New One-Way Rotating Barrier – Designed for Safety First

The Vandgard® One-Way Rotating Barrier has been developed as a safety-led improvement on conventional bi-directional roller barriers. The primary purpose of the one-way rotation system is to prevent intruders or climbers from using their own bodyweight and momentum to launch themselves over the barrier.

With traditional two-way rotating systems, a climber can sometimes generate forward momentum that accelerates them into the danger area on the far side of the fence. By contrast, the Vandgard® One-Way system is engineered to rotate only in the safe direction, ensuring climbers are safely and predictably rolled back to the secure side. It is designed first and foremost as a safety measure, as well as a highly effective security solution.

The One-Way Rotating Barrier features a patented, specially designed shaft, roller and locking bracket system that prevents the roller cups from rotating in two directions. The shaft is locked into position within the bracket, allowing the roller cups to freely rotate in one direction only. If force is applied in the opposite direction, the system will not assist the intruder – it will only rotate in the predefined safe direction set at installation.

This controlled, directional rotation eliminates the risk of forward momentum into hazardous zones, delivering a major safety advantage over standard roller barriers while maintaining the highest levels of access-prevention performance.

The direction of the one-way roll is decided at the installation point and determined by the locking brackets.

Pricing is per metre (for example, 2 metres = £140).
Minimum order quantity (MOQ) is 2 metres.

Each 2m package includes:

• 1 × 2000 mm central shaft with 4 ridges

• 15 × roller cups, 130 mm diameter × 132 mm long

  • Each cup has 3 internal dents engineered to engage with the ridged shaft and ensure the rollers will only ever roll one way

• 1 × spigot, used to join sections together

Important:

• No other shafts, brackets or roller cups will work with this product.

• You will need to purchase Lock Brackets in addition to the above.
